August President's Update

14 Aug by Bret Straffon

It’s August Already?! Let’s Goooo!

BASS TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP (BTC) – The regular season finale hits Hubbard Lake this Sunday, and then it’s full throttle to the Classic! Co-Tournament Directors Tom Patten and Jeff Yorks have absolutely crushed it — open format, flexibility, and results that make jaws drop: 42 unique teams, 34 boats per event, and an average $10,000 payout. That’s big-league stuff right there!
Senior Series – Veterans of the water, this is your time! Paul Wagner and Larry Garus are steering this ship, and with two stops left, the competition is still fierce. Skill, smarts, and decades of experience are colliding on every cast — and the bonds being formed? Legendary. The Series is averaging 23 boats and over $1000 payout per tournament!
High School Team Trail (HSTT) – Three events down, one to go, and we’ve got a photo finish brewing for Angler of the Year. Over 50 teams have battled all season, and it all comes down to the wire. One event. One title. One shot at history.
Youth State Championship – This weekend in Boyne City, it’s going to be a slugfest! The best Junior and High School anglers in the state will battle over two days, total weight deciding the champions. Lake Charlevoix will be ground zero, but connecting waters are in play if the weather behaves. The bite is back — expect big bags and even bigger drama!
Adult State Championship – Lake St. Clair is calling! Deadline: September 15, 11:59 PM. Minimum age? 16 years. Stakes? Huge. If you’re ready to compete with the best, this is your ticket — sign up now and make your mark!
