What a tournament to end the 2025 Michigan Bass Team Championship Series. The morning started with the top 10 teams from this years series battling it out for over $10,000 in cash plus hundreds of dollars worth of prizes.
We might as well start with this years Classic Champions. Not only did this team win the Classic last year, they also won it in 2023. This is a huge feat, to beat the “Best of the Best” three years in a row. As the weights were all very close, and winning by .20 ounces, the team of Greg Sochocki & Noah Stauffer brought 15.52# to the scales to complete the 3-peat. Not only do they get an automatic bid to next years Classic, they get to keep the Classic trophy for another year while they figure out how much tackle they can buy with their $5000 check they get for winning today. Congratulations Greg & Noah
Second place team today has its own twist. If I told you the team of Paul Gohlke & Bill McQuarrie managed to put a 15.32# sack on the scales for the second place money of $3000, you probably wouldn’t be surprised, because we all know these guys can flat out catch some fish. But if I told you Bill showed up this morning by himself because Paul was fortunate enough to get a bear tag this year and season opened yesterday, you would probably understand. So being substitutes are not allowed for the Classic, Bill took to the water by himself and absolutely smashed them. That’s a teammate! Well done Bill!
Our third team starts their morning off early by putting a 4.10# large mouth in the boat on their FIRST CAST! Isn’t that suppose to be bad luck or something?!?! Not for these cats, they just kept piling them on. The team of Jamie Sochocki & Mike Sielinski put together a 14.82 bag that won them $1500 for third place and $500 for the big bass of the tournament. Well done gentlemen.
We hope everyone who participated in the BTC this year had a good time fishing our series and we hope to see all you back next year!
Full results will be attached. And also we have a lot pictures from today’s Classic that will be attached.
